Aloha Gang, I just wanted to inform you all on the player status in this one, before anyone decided to play it.
For Hawaii:
Starting SR 6'10" Center Haim Shimonovich did not make this road trip as he sustained a knee injury in the last game with SMU. He is Hawaii's main man dow low. Hawaii will really need to step things up at the Forward position with Sensley and especially Martin. This is a Big loss for Hawaii. Haim's is Hawaii's power man down low.
-In first game with Boise St. in Honolulu, Haim's led the team with 9 Rebs, 4 assists,3 Blks, and 12pts.
-For the seasons Haim's stats are: 4th on the team in scoring with 7.8 ppg, 1.5 Blk ppg, and 7.2 Rebs pg.
For Boise ST:
Boise St's leading scorer Jr 6'6" Jermaine Blackburn will be out again due to a shoulder injury. This is a Big loss as well for Boise St. They have suffered other setbacks as well, but this one is big, as their is not really anyone to match up with the scoring of Warrior G Mike Kuebler who is leading the Conf in scoring.
-In the game with Hawaii, Blackburn led the team with 19 pts, 1-3 from 3pt land, 3 Reb, 1 Stl, and 1 assist.
-On the season, Blackburn contributes to the team: 15.9 ppg, 4 Rebs, 72% FT, 49% shooting from the field.
*Final Score in this game in Honolulu back on Jan 24, was Hawaii 64-58.
**Hope this information is helpful to you all in some way. I think the loss to Hawaii's Big man is being looked upon as a bigger loss , as the line is still moving up from 3.5 to now 5.5 on Boise St. GL and Aloha CC.
